About the Tamarack Prize
The Tamarack Prize for Outstanding Contributions to Orthotic Science and Practice, sponsored by Tamarack Habilitation Technologies, Inc., recognizes the critical importance of clinical research, design development and education in the pursuit of improved patient outcomes. The Tamarack Prize will include a $10,000 unrestricted cash award in recognition of the recipient's contributions to science and dedication to improving orthotic clinical care. The Tamarack Prize will be presented at the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium.
Eligibility Criteria
Every two years, the Foundation solicits nominations for individuals who have made a significant contribution to the practice and understanding of orthotic science. The Foundation Board of Directors may also nominate deserving individuals. Ideal nominees or applicants are those who have a history of at least ten years in clinical care, as a practical foundation for their scientific research, or orthotic design development in addition to scientific presentation, publications and/or formal instruction in the orthotics profession and/or industry.
To qualify for award consideration, applicants/nominees must:
Be eligible to provide clinical care as an orthotist within the United States (ABC certification is not required);
Have a minimum of ten years clinical experience as an orthotist;
Be an active member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP);
Be actively involved in improving orthotic science and clinical care over the past five or more years.
How to Apply
Complete the Tamarack Prize application
Prepare/obtain the nominee's Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume
Ensure the CV or resume describes the applicant's/nominee's history of clinical care, scientific research, and/or peer-reviewed publication
Obtain copies of relevant publications
Preference will given to peer-reviewed publications
Obtain between three (minimum) and five (maximum) letters of recommendation
Letters of recommendation are required for the Tamarack Prize
Email all application materials to the Foundation at submissions@oandpfoundation.org.
The subject of your email should read "Tamarack Prize".
Submission Details
Applicants are responsible for ensuring all materials are received by The Foundation by the due dates posted. Application materials must be received by 5:00pm Eastern Time on the posted deadline.
