Research Awards
The Foundation has partnered with the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC), the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy), and the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) to provide grants, fellowships, and travel awards to investigators, students, and residents pursuing research in the O&P field. The Foundation's Research Awards and Prizes are intended to support clinically-relevant, investigator-initiated research in O&P. The Foundation also partners with organizations, like the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE), to solicit applications for targeted research opportunities.
Research Awards & Prizes
Small Grant Awards are intended to support investigators who have attained a doctoral degree or have prior research experience.
Fellowship Awards support graduate students who are currently enrolled in a master's and/or PhD educational programs.
Resident Travel Awards support current or recent residents' travel to national conferences.
Student Poster Prizes identify and celebrate outstanding research by orthotic and prosthetic students.
Special Solicitations
The Research in Orthotic and Prosthetic (O&P) Education Award supports research focused on the identification of core concepts and core principles for O&P professionals (2023 only).
