Resident Travel Awards

Resident Travel Awards

The Foundation's Resident Travel Award Program supports prosthetics and orthotics residents' travel to the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy) Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium so that they may present results of their National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) Directed Study. Resident Travel Awards are currently supported by a generous donation from the American Board of Certification for Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC). ABC Resident Travel Awards include a $2,500 cash award that should be used to support the recipient's travel to and attendance at the Academy's Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium. One award may be given annually.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for an ABC Resident Travel Award, applicants must be be currently involved in or have completed an NCOPE accredited residency within the last three years (you do not have to be a resident at the time of your presentation). Applicants' abstracts will be reviewed by a committee of scientific and clinical experts and will be evaluated for scientific merit and relevance to the O&P field. Prior ABC Resident Travel Award recipients may not apply for a second award.
